Made for the Planet Game Jam #16.

You are the sole hope for an entire planet. The greed of your people drove them to dig too deep, causing tectonic ruptures and volcanoes to erupt all over the planet once known as Otto. The planet was widely known as a paradise, with everything everyone could need or want, but that changed after the volcanoes triggered an ice age not seen in ages. Now the few survivors depend on you to get them oil, so they can refine it into fuel to burn and give the people heat and space ships. So, how long can you survive?

Fight against pirates to defend your haul, or succumb to the might of the three types of pirates: Scouts, Fighters, and the Dreadnaught.

Controls:

WASD to move

SHIFT to boost

Left click to fire

E to scan

Known issue: Using an auto clicker just makes the game really easy. If you want to play like that, we won't stop you, but it isn't the intended way of playing. Have fun however you want.

Also, I heard that pressing w to go forward feels weird, but I tried it the other way, and it felt worse.

How to play: You need to destroy asteroids to get oil. Approach the planet that the arrow on the left points to. This allows you to sell the oil, buy fuel, and upgrades. The upgrades are infinite, but the prices do keep increasing. If the fuel bar reaches 0, you lose. If you run out of health, you lose. If Otto runs out of oil, you lose because everyone dies.

There are 4 types of asteroids: Common are brown, uncommon are greenish (idk how to describe it), rare are gray, and super rare are red.  You get more resources from larger and rarer asteroids.
